LOGICALLY LEARNING AND ANALYZING MODERN BIOMEDICAL KNOWLEDGE

Logical thinking is an important skill that helps scientifically solve problems encountered during research processes by understanding and analyzing how scientists, in the already known publications, come up with hypotheses, design experiments in an integrated manner, and determine the best possibility of an unknown question. Medical research is to facilitate accurate disease diagnosis/prognosis, provide solutions, and develop therapeutics for patients by translating basic research accomplishments into clinical applications. This course is intended to develop a novel teaching methodology to help students establish their skills of logic and critical thinking in which they are hopefully able to scientifically differentiate and reconcile conflictions by helping them review most updated high impact research publications in medicine and dividing/alternating them into two groups, namely offensive and defensive ends, in which students will be trained to debate controversial issues and finally come to a consensus or a reconciled conclusion that are agreed with by both ends.
