量子輸運理論

This course focuses on the on-going research projects on quantum transport with the use of nonequilibrium Green functions (NEGF) technique and the rigorous master equation approach for open quantum systems, and also the applications in electron and photon dynamics in semiconductor nano-science and technology. The rapid development on nano-science and technology has attracted great interests in nano systems where extremely short length scales (~ 1nm) and extremely fast time scales (~ 1 fs) play a crucial role. In these short length and time scales the electrons and photons are dominated by quantum features, such as the quantum coherence and decoherence. To properly describe phenomena of this kind in quantum transport, one requires a very fundamental quantum theory to start with. NEGF and master equation approach fit this goal .
